Latest Number of Bird Species of Hubei Province

Abstract

Based on A Checklist on the Classification and Distribution of the Birds of China(Second Edition),previous studies and the newly recorded data on avifauna of Hubei province were summarized and re-analyzed.A total of 521 species were confirmed in the checklist of birds species in Hubei,which accounted for 38% of the total number of bird species in China with the number of 1371 species.They belong to 76 families,19 orders.Among them,12 species belong to Grade Ⅰ National protected animal,76 to Grade Ⅱ National protected animal,and 17 to Chinese endemic species.
