Abstract

OBJECTIVE To understand the seasonal, age and laboratory features of rotavirus infection in diarrhea infants.METHODS The stool routine check and rotavirus test were performed to 7237 cases of diarrhea infant from 2008-2009.RESULTS A total of 1754 cases of rotavirus was detected in 7237 diarrhea stool. The detection rate was 24.24%.November and december were the peak seasons, the susceptible age was from 6 months to 2 years old.The results of the routine endoscope showed that the negative result was 36.94%,and 14.99% of the specimens were detected out a few of leukocytes.CONCLUSIONS Rotavirus is one of the main pathogens which cause the infant diarrhea. So through timely detection of fecal rotavirus it′ll provide the basis for the clinical diagnosis and symptomatic therapy.
