Clinical significance of the breast cancer's sentinel lymph node biopsy(Forty-five case reports are included)

Abstract

Objective To discuss the clinical significance of breast cancer's sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy. Method A retrospective study was conducted to analyze 45 case reports of breast cancer's sentinel lymph nodes biopsy (SLNB) during the period of July 21th 2009～Sep 21th 2009. Results Forty-two patients' sentinel lymph nodes were found successfully in all 45 cases,only three patients were not found the SLN,the detection rate was 93.3%,the accurate rate was 100%. The positive rate of SLNB was 13.3%,the false negative rate was 0. Conclusion SLNB has the potential to replace axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) on the early breast cancer patients.
