Abstract
Objective To study apoptosis in the hepatoma cell line (SMMC 7721) by arsenic trioxide (As 2O 3) in vitro.Methods The proliferation of hepatoma cell was detected by MTT assay.DNA gel electrophoresis and flow cytometry (FCM) were used to detect the apoptosis and cell cycle induced by As 2O 3 at different doses and time.Results As 2O 3 inhibited the proliferation of hepatoma cells with the relation to doses and time,changed the cell cycle in hepatoma cell with the doses increase and induced apoptosis on hepatoma cell with doses and time.Conclusions As 2O 3 can inhibit the proliferation,change cell cycle and induce apoptosis on hepatoma cell line (SMMC 7721) cells.
