Abstract

Objective:To study the inhibitions of the hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 from proliferation, migration by human interferon-αand the antitumor mechanism. Methods:Hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 was cultured routinely, and after 24 hours co-incubation of hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721,human interferon-α.MTT assay was used to detect the effects of human interferon-αon proliferation of hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721.Invasive ability of hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 was examined by Boyden chamber model.Apoptosis in hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 induced by human interferon-αwas analyzed by annexin V-FITC.Results:Human interferon-αinhibited hepatoma cell line SMMC-7721 from proliferation in vitro and induced its apoptosis significantly. The number of metastatic tumor ceils was significantly reduced. Tumor dimension was also significantly reduced. Conclusion:Human interferon-αcould inhibit proliferation and migration and induce apoptosis in SMMC-7721 in vitro directly.
