Clinical effects of root canal filling material cortisomol paste in treatment of chronic periodical periodontitis

Objective To study the postoperative response and long-term clinical efficacy of cortisomol paste on chronic periodical periodontitis after one-off root canal filling therapy.Methods Totally 108 teeth who suffered chronic periapieal periodontitis and required root canal filling therapy were recruited and randomized into experimental group and control group.108 teeth in two groups were filled with either cortisomol paste or zinc oxide-eugenol paste plus gutta-percha.1week and 1-year clinical efficacies of root canal filling therapy in two groups were compared.Results The rate of postoperative response on the experimental group was 12.96%,the rate on the experimental group was significantly reduced with control,with statistic difference(χ2=6.30,P0.05).the rate of long-term clinical efficacy of experimental group was 94.44%,the rate was significantly higher than the control,with statistic difference(χ2=6.27,P0.05).Conclusions Cortisomol paste showed less postoperative response and better efficacy after one-of root canal filling therapy.
