Clincal effects comparision in root canal treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis with cortisomol paste and CCQ paste

Objective To investigate the effect of Cortisomol paste in one-time root canal treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis.Methods One hundred cases of chronic periapical periodontitis patients receiving one-time root canal therapy were randomly divided into two groups.Cortisomol paste with gutta-percha point was used to fill the root canal in test group.CCQ paste with gutta-percha point was used to fill the root canal in control group.Results The incidence of postoperative pain within 7 days was 16% in test group and 38% in control group.Difference between the two groups was significant (P 0.001).The success rate after 1 year' follow-up was 92% in test group and 86% in control group.Difference between the two groups was not significant (P 0.05).Conclusion Cortisomol paste is suggested to use as a root canal filling material in the treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis because of small stimulation,mild postoperative pain and easy operation.
