Abstract
3-amino-1,2,4-triazole can be synthesized by aminoguanidine bicarbonate and formic acid under microwave irradiation. It was shown that the reaction was up to about 300 times faster under microwave irradiation method than by conventional heating method. The optimum conditions of the microwave synthesis were investigated. It was revealed that the best yield (83.5%)was obtained when the power of microwave is 120 W, the mole ratio of aminoguanidine bicarbonate and formic acid is 1:1.25, the ethanol is 5 mL, and the reaction time is sixty seconds.
