Abstract
Triethyl citrate was synthesized by citric acid and ethanol using microwave irradiation in strong acidic cation exchange resin catalysis. The influence of microwave irradiation heating time, the amount of catalyst on yield. The optimum condition are as follows:microwave irradiation power is 225 W,microwave irradiation time is 40 min, catalyst dosage is 2%.Compared with conventional synthesis, the rate of reaction was up to 12 times faster than conventional method, and the yield was 90.6%.
