Clinical Evaluation of IPS-Empress II Ceramic Veneer in Cosmetic Repairing

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of IPS-Empress ceramic veneer in a five-year follow-up study.Methods IPS-Empress ceramic veneer was applied in 764 teeth of 176 patients.Variolink Ⅱ was the luting material for veneer adhesive.The patients were recalled for evaluation postoperatively,at regular intervals of 2 week,6 months,1 year,2 years,3 years and 5 years,respectively.The factors of evaluation included the veneer debond and fracture,the marginal situation,the gingival health,the satisfaction,etc.Results More than 98% veneers were found to be intact and had acceptable marginal adaptation.The color of the veneer was stable.Conclusion IPS-Empress Ⅱ ceramic veneer cosmetology to repair anterior teeth is reliable and ideal in aesthetic dentistry.
