Status of Fish Resources in the Lower Reaches of the Jialing River

The investigation of fish resources was carried on in the lower reaches of Jialing River.1153 kg fishery capture was obtained by 226 sailings from May to October in 2003 and 19378 fish specimen were measured.There were 92 species of fish,which belonged to 5 orders 14 families 61 genera.13 of 92 species were new records in the water areas.The change of ecological environment in Jialing River resulted in the change of the fish composition and community.The population quantity of the rare fish,migration or half migration fish such as Acipenser sinensis,Acipenser dabryanus,Psephurus gladius,Myxocyprinus asiaticus,Luciobrama macrocephalus reduced and even disappeared sharply.
