Diagnosis Value of MMP-2 and VEGF Combined Detection in Brain Gliomas

Abstract

Objective To observe the value of matrix metalloproteinases-2(MMP-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor( VEGF) combined detection in the diagnosis of brain glioma. Methods A total of 90 specimens with brain glioma accepting first time operation in the authors' hospital and confirmed by pathology were selected as glioma group. Another 60 healthy persons were selected as healthy volunteer group. The expression of MMP-2 and VEGF were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The positive rate of MMP-2 and VEGF in glioma group was significantly higher than that in the healthy group( P 0. 05). MMP-2 and VEGF in glioma group were increased with the increase of the pathological staging( P 0. 05). Conclusion MMP-2 and VEGF combined detection can improve the diagnostic value of brain glioma and is helpful for the early clinical diagnosis.
