Abstract

Objective:To detect expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)and epidermal growth factor receptor variantⅢ (EGFRvⅢ) in gastric carcinoma to explore its relation with the genesis and development of gastric carcinoma and its relation-ship with clinicopathological parameters. Methods:Immunohistochemistry (S-P) was used to detect the expression of EGFR and EGFRv Ⅲ protein in one hundred and five gastric carcinoma tissues and their adjacent normal gastric tissues. Results:Positive expression rate of EGFR and EGFRvⅢ in gastric carcinoma tissues were higher than normal gastric tissues (P0.01),their positive expression rate were 46.67%,35.24% and 7.62%,3.81%. Their expression were unrelated with gender and age of gastric carcinoma(P0.05),but were close-ly related with the degree of differentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and clinical stages (P0.05). Conclusion:Many gastric carcinoma tissues have overexpression of EGFR and EGFRvⅢ,which may play certain role in the genesis and development of gastric carcinoma and closely related the degree of differentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and clinical stages.
