Comparison of clinical outcome between autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantantion and autologous bone marrow transplantation

Abstract

Objective:To compare the clinical outcome of autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (APBSCT) and autologous bone marrow transplantation(ABMT).Methods:Twenty one patients received ABMT and 20 received APBSCT in our hospital.Conditioning regimens were TBI 6.6 ～ 8.8 GY+CTX 100～120 mg/m 2 or MAC(Mel 140 mg/m 2+Ara C 2～4 g/m 2+CTX 120 mg/kg).Results:Twenty patients in ABMT and all of APBSCT group engrafted successfully.Transplant related death was in 2 ( 9.5 %)patients in the ABMT and no patients in the APBSCT group.Four(20%)patients in ABMT and 5(25%)in APBSCT group relapsed.The 2 year probabilities of disease free survival(DFS)for ABMT and APBSCT group were ( 68.5 ± 10.87 %)and( 62.34 ± 14.26 %)respectively.Conclusions:The clinical outcome of APBSCT is similar to ABMT.
