Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effects of Jianpi Yiqi Recipe(JPYQ) on gastric emptying and intestinal propulsion in mice receiving chemotherapy.Methods:Forty-eight mice were equally randomized into 6 groups, and they were blank control group, model group,Mosapride group, and high-,middle-,and low-dose JPYQ groups.Mice in the blank control group were given intraperitoneal injection of normal saline while the mice in the other groups were given intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide on experimental day 1,3 and 5.During the modeling, the mice in the medication groups were given the corresponding medicine according to the experimental design. The relative gastric pigment residual rate was detected for the evaluation of gastric emptying, and the intestinal propulsion rate was also examined. Results:Compared with the blank control group, gastric pigment residue value and relative gastric pigment residual rate were significantly increased(P0.01) and the intestinal propulsion rate was significantly decreased(P0.05,P0.01) in the model group,Mosapride group and low-dose JPYQ group.Compared with the model group, gastric pigment residue value and relative gastric pigment residual rate were significantly decreased(P0.01) and the intestinal propulsion rate was significantly increased(P0.05,P0.01) in high-and middle-dose JPYQ groups, but the differences of relative gastric pigment residual rate and the intestinal propulsion rate were insignificant between high-and middle-dose JPYQ groups and Mosapride group(P0.05).Conclusion:JPYQ has certain effect on improving gastric emptying and intestinal propulsion in mice receiving chemotherapy, the effect of high-and middle-dose JPYQ being better.
