Clinical Effect of Kangfuxin Liquid Combined with Omeprazole on Acute Nonvariceal Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Aged Patients

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Kangfuxin liquid combined with Omeprazole on acute nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding in aged patients.Methods Fifty-six aged patients with acute nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=32) and the control group(n=24).Patients in the treatment group were treated with oral Kangfuxin liquid 10 mL tid and Omeprazole 40 mg in 100 mL normal saline travenously bid.Patients in the control group were treated with intravenous Omeprazole 40 mg bid.The course of treatment was 5 days.In the course of treatment,time to hemostasis were recorded.Results The total effective rate in controlling bleeding in the treatment group(96.9%) was significantly higher than that in the control group(79.2%),and time to hemostasis in the treatment group was obviously shorter than that in the control group(P0.05).Duration to bleeding stop in the treatment group was srgnificantly shorter than in the control group(P0.05).The frequency of adverse events was low in both groups and Kangfuxin liquid combined with Omeprazole was well tolerated.Conclusion Kangfuxin liquid combined with Omeprazole is effective in treating acute nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding in aged patients.
