Abstract
[Objective] To explore the relationship of the expression of HIF-1α,IGF-1 protein and the genesis, development, invasion and metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.[Methods] SP immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of HIF-1α,IGF-1 protein in 49 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma specimens,12 cases of carcinoma in situ,19 cases of adjacent atypical hyperplasia epithelium and 39 cases of normal esophageal epithelium.[Results] The expression of HIF-1α protein was closely correlated with the infiltration and lymphatic metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(P0.05),not correlated with the tumor grade(P0.05);IGF-1protein was closely correlated with the tumor grade, infiltration and lymphatic metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(P0.05).The expression rates of HIF-1α and IGF-1 protein decreased in turns in carcinoma, carcinoma in situ, atypical hyperplasia epithelium and normal esophageal epithelium specimens-were 51.0%,41.7%,31.6%,0.0% and 69.4%,58.3%,52.6%,34.4%,respectively.And there were significant differences in group comparison with the normal epithelium(P0.05).There was positive correlation between the expression of HIF-1α and IGF-1 protein(P0.05).[Conclusions] HIF-1α and IGF-1 play important roles in the infiltration, metastasis and carcinomatous change of the mucosa epithelium in esophageal carcinoma.United examining HIF-1α and IGF-1can become an objective target to evaluate potential power of invasion and lymph node metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma,it had a great significance to the judgement of prognosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
