Abstract

Ni-Fe alloy coatings with different Fe contents were fabricated by electroplating on LY12CZ aluminum alloy substrates.Potentiodynamic polarization curves in 3.5% NaCl solution were tested to investigate the corrosion resistance of the coatings. The results showed that the Ni-Fe coating with 7.3% Fe had better corrosion resistance than Ni coating. With the increase of Fe content, the grain size enlarged, porosity rised, and corrosion resistance declined.
