Abstract
Purpose To investigate the antioxidant effects of TNHH on global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.Methods Modified Pulsinelli four-vessel occlusion model in rat was prepared to produce the cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury.After ischemia for 30 min and reperfusion for 48 h,superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,malondialdehyde(MDA)level,and myeloperoxidase(MPO)activity in brain tissue were measured.Results TNHH produced significant reductions in MDA content,MPO activity and elevation in SOD activity.Conclusion TNHH possesses the antioxidant effects in whole brain ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.
