Abstract

4-Mercaptomethyl benzophenone(new compound,75% yield) or 4,4′-bis(mercaptomethyl) benzophenone(83% yield) were synthesized by thiourea method from 4-bromomethyl benzophenone or 4,4′-bis(bromomethyl) benzophenone.The structures were characterized by 1H NMR,13C NMR,IR and elemental analysis.
