Abstract

4-Bromomehyl benzophenone was prepared from 4-methyl benzophenone and Br 2 using CCl 4 as a solvent of reaction and recrystal. The optimum conditions are as follow: reaction temperature 80℃, reaction time 4h and 4-methyl benzophenone∶Br 2=1∶1(mol). The yield is 58%, and the purity of the product is up to 99%.
