Curative effect of Shugan granule on alcoholic fatty liver rats and its mechanism

Objective It is to discuss the preventive and therapeutic effect of Shugan granule on alcoholic fatty liver and its mechanism.Methods Alcoholic fatty liver rat models were prepared with ethanol lavage.Female Wistar rats were randomly divided into ethanol group,Shugan granule group and normal group.The ethanol group was divided into two subgroups at the 12th weekend.Then the biochemical and pathological indexes were detected.Results In ethanol group,the levels of ALT and AST rose at the 4th week,but those in Shugan granule group rose slightly at the 12th week.MDA in ethanol group rose at the 12th week,and it had significant difference compared with normal group and Shugan granule group(P0.01).There was significant difference on the value of SOD between ethanol group and Shugan granule group(P0.05).The adip-change of hepatic tissue in ethanol group was aggravation,which in Shugan granule group had little changed at the 12th week end.At the 16th week end,the biochemical and pathological indexes in group A became normal,but the pathological changes in group B did not recover.Conclusion Shugan granule has nicer preventive and therapeutic effect on alcoholic fatty liver rats.The mechanisms may be concerned with reducing lipid peroxidation and lightening necrosis and inflammatory reaction.
