Abstract

The catalyst FeO(OH) was prepared by dropping ferric chloride solution to sodium hydroxide solution. 1-Aminoanthraquinone was prepared by the reduction of 1-nitro anthraquinone with hydrazine hydrate catalyzed by FeO(OH) in ethanol at refl ux temperature. The infl uences of hydrazine hydrate amount and reaction time on the yield of 1-aminoanthraquinone were investigated. The results showed that the suitable mole ratio of hydrazine hydrate to 1-nitroanthraquinone was 2.0, and the suitable reaction time was 100 min. Under the suitable conditions, the yield of 1-aminoanthraquinone could reach 98%. Moreover, little deactivation was observed after six times recycling of the catalyst.
