Abstract

Objective To investigate the adjusting effect of different doses of atorvastatin on Matrix Metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) expression of rat vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC).Methods Rat VSMC were cultured in vitro with DMEM containing 10 percent pf calf plasma.Different doses of atorvastatin were added to the VSMC for different groups. The expression of MMP-2 was monitored by enzyme image analysis technique. Results Different doses of atorvastatin could obviously inhibit the activity of MMP-2 dose-dependently.Conclusion Atorvastatin can decrease the expression of MMP-2,and higher dose of atorvastatin can result in more significant inhibitory effect.
