Effect of desogestrel-ethinylestradiol on the result of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

Objective:To study the effect of beforehand treatment with oral contraception(OC) on patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) before in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF -ET).Methods:192 patients suffered from PCOS receiving IVF - ET were divided into two groups:93 cases taken oral contraception(Marvlon or Dain 35) as beforehand treatment before IVF -ET, the other 99 cases without OC were taken as control group.The patients' age,number of oocyte retrieving,fertilization rate, implantation rate,and pregnancy rate and ovarain hyperstimulation syndrom(OHSS) were compared.Results:The age,number of Gn using and oocyte,fertilization rate had no difference(P0.05) between two groups.But the implantation rate and pregnancy rate in beforehand treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group(P0.05).The abortion rate and occurrence rate of OHSS in study group(9.1%) were less than that in control group(5.2%).Conclusions:Beforehand treatment with OC to PCOS patients before IVF - ET could increase the implantation and pregnancy rates and reduce the occurrence rate of OHSS.
