Abstract
Objective To study the significance of apoptosis-related gene Survivin in Kazak′s esophageal cancer. Methods The expression of Survivin gene mRNA was detected in tissues of 20 cases with esophageal cancer and tumor-adjacent normal tissues by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Then the expression of Survivin protein was detected in some samples with difference in transcriptional level by Western-blotting.Results The overall positive rate of Survivin gene mRNA expression was 50% in the tissues of 20 cases wtih esophageal cancer, and 20% in tumor-adjacent normal tissues. There was no difference in the expression of Survivin level between tumor tissue and tumor-adjacent tissue. Conclusions It is suggested that the abnormal expression of Survivin gene affects the occurrence of Kazak′s esophageal cancer mainly in transcriptional level, and it should be further studied.
