Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between expression of Survivin gene and cell proliferation ki-67 in esophageal cancer. To confirm this two gene as marker gene of esophageal cancer forepart diagnosis. Methods Expression of Survivin gene and Ki-67 was detected by immunohistochemical techniques(S-P) in 61 cases of esophageal cancer,12 cases of the adjacent tumor tissues and 12 cases of benign lesions,respective1y analyze the expression of Survivin gene in protein level and that of Ki-67 index in esophageal cancer tissues. Results In esophageal cancer, the expression rate of Survivin gene and Ki-67 index in protein level was 79.26% (48/61) and 69.64%(43/61),respectively,significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.0l).There was a significantly positive correlation between ther (r=0.42,P0.01). Conclusion There was overexpression of Survivin gene in esophageal cancer tissues. As a specific biomarker of malignant tumors,Survivin gene and ki-67 may also serve as a definite diagnostic marker for esophageal cancer.
