Abstract
Objective To assess the characteristics of blood flow for normal pancreas and pancreatic cancer, and to discuss the value of MSCT perfusion technology. Methods The CT perfusion imaging were obtained using GE Lightspeed 16 slice spiral CT scanner in 29 patients with pancreatic cancer and 31 patients with normal pancreas tissue. Hemodynamic parameters including blood flow (BF),blood volume (BV), mean transmit time (MTT) and capillary vessel permeability surface (PS) were calculated. Results The BF, BV, MTT and PS of normal group were (176.54±76.18) ml/(100 mg·min), (14.62±3.60) ml/100 mg, (7.02±3.09) s, (15.70±9.92) ml/(100 mg·min), respectively, while those of pancreatic cancer group were (74.89±91.50) ml/(100 mg·min), (6.12±3.62) ml/100 mg, (10.38±5.31) s, (27.43±11.97) ml/(100 mg·min), respectively. Statistically significant differences were noted between pancreatic cancer and normal pancreas tissue with respect to BF,BV,MTT and PS (BF, BV, P 0.01; MTT, PS, P 0.05). Conclusion BF, BV of pancreatic cancer shorten significantly and MTT, PS increase markedly. It is significant that MSCT perfusion imaging analyze the chang of the blood flow for pancreatic cancer.
