Abstract
One strain virus was isolated from affected Gooses livers spleens and pancreas in Fengyang of Anhui using chicken embryos and characterized as the Gooses paramyxovirus named WF- 00 G strain by hemagglutination (HA) hemagglutination-inhibition (HI)test inoculation of embryos after neutralization using particularsera and challenge with 3-week old geese and 3-week specific pathogen free (SPF)chickens the biologicai characterisites of the virus was derermined by measuringthe mean death time of chicken embryos(MDT)the intracerebral pathogenicity ingex in day-old chicks (ICPI) and the intravenous pathgenicity index in 6-week-old chickens (IVPI) at the virulence of Newcastle disease vius (NDV) the MDT ICPI and IVPI and IVPI were 44.8h 1.81 and 2.32 respectively. The results indicated that the isolate was high virulence like velogenic Newcastle disease virus (NDV)
