Abstract

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of aripiprazole and risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia.Methods 60 patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into two groups: aripiprazole group(n=30) and risperidone group(n=30).The therapeutic effects were evaluated by PANSS,and side effects were assessed by TESS before and after 2,4,6 and 8 treatment weeks.Results The rates of marked improvement in aripiprazole group and risperidone group were 76.7% and 73.3%,respectively.Conclusion Both aripiprazole and risperidone have good effective in the treatment of schizophrenia.But aripiprazole has less adverse effects.It's an effective and safe antipsychotic drug.
