Abstract
Objective:To observe the adverse events and efficacy of aripiprazole in the treatment of schizophrenia.Method:Sixty-four cases of schizophrenia were randomly divided into aripiprazole group and risperidone group. The course of treatments was 8 weeks. The therapeutic effects were evaluated by positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS),and side effects were assessed by treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS).Results:The rates of marked improvement in aripiprazole group and risperidone group were 78.1% and 75.0% respectively. The extracorticospinal(EPS) tract reaction was more severe in risperidone group than in aripiprazole group. Conclusion:Aripiprazole,as well as risperidone,is one of effective antipsychotics and less EPS in the treatment of schizophrenia.
