Abstract
[Objective] To explore the relationship between the phenomenon of serum-resistance and the stages of syphilis and compare the treatments of serum-resistance of syphilis with benzathine with ceftriaxone. [Methods] According to the full reference of the patients suffering from syphilis of the Dermatology Outpatient Clinic in the last five years,the incidences of serum-resistance,incidences of serum-resistance of every stage of syphilis and the time when syphilis were formed were statisticalized and compared. The treatment effect of the two groups were analysed after the treated group were given ceftriaxone,and the control group were given benzathine. [Results] Among the 318 cases of syphilis patients,there were 58 cases(18.24%) who had serum-resistance. Of these,there were 4 cases(9.76%) of primary syphilis,20 cases(13.70%) of secondary syphilis,34 cases(25.95%) of latent syphilis. The serum-resistance of latent syphilis was formed later than that of the primary syphilis. Effects:After the patients had been retreated for 6 months,in the treated group the total efficiency rate was 88.46%,with fully recovery of 23 cases,proved effectiveness of 1 case and invalid effectiveness of 2 cases,while in the control group the total efficiency rate was 62.50%,with fully recovery of 20 cases,proved effectiveness of 4 cases and invalid effectiveness of 8 cases. [Conclusion] The serum-resistance of syphilis is related to the stages of syphilis. There is a higher incidence of serum-resistance in unknown stages of the latent syphilis . It is very important to strengthen the early screening of the latent syphilis and treat it early to prevent serum-resistance of syphilis. Ceftriaxone is superior to benzathine in treating serumresistance of syphilis. The effects may be related to the difference between the permeability of blood brain barrier and the penetrability of the tissues of these two.
