Reason analysis and nursing intervention in elderly hospitalized coronary heart disease patients with sleep disorder

Objective To discuss the cause of coronary heart disease in the elderly with sleep disorder, in order to implement effective nursing intervention in elderly hospitalized patients and promote the quality of sleep. Methods Two hundred and sixty-six cases of hospitalized patients with sleep disorders in elderly patients with coronary heart disease in our department from January 2009 to December 2011 were investigated, the causes were analyzed, and the nursing intervention was carried out. Results In this group of patients with sleep disorder, sleep difficulties were the most common, which accounted for 65.0%, and the difficulty falling asleep with long time halfway arousal accounted for 50.8%. The patients with sleep time decreased accounted for 33.5%; disease caused by uncomfortable, sleep environment changes and drug effects, psychological factors and economic burden in elderly coronary heart disease patients also contributed to the main reasons of sleep disorder. After the nursing intervention, all of the patients had different degrees of improvement. Conclusion We should take active and reasonable treatment and care measures for the elderly hospitalized coronary heart disease patients with sleep disorder, promote disease rehabilitation from the aspects of improving symptoms of the disease, psychological nursing, improving the environment and many other aspects.
