Abstract
A new spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of fosfomycin sodium based on formation of 1:1 charge transfer complex with alizarin in ethanol solution. The complex maximum absorption is at 545nm The apparent molar absorptivity is 3.47×103L·mol-1·cm-1.The calibration curves are linear in the concentration range of 1.4—60mg·L-1.This proposed method has been applied to determination of fosfomycin sodium with satisfactory results. The recovery is 99.6%—100.5%.
