Abstract
Objective To investigate the causes of patients with long-term fever of unknown origin( FUO).Methods The clinical data of 388 patients with long-term FUO were retrospectively analyzed.Results 253 patients were given a confirmed diagnosis,and the confirmation rate was 65.2%.The most common causes of FUO were infectious diseases( 51.8%),with 55 cases of tuberculosis.69patients were suffered from connective tissue disease( 27.3%),which included 20 cases of adult Still's disease.37 cases were diagnosed as malignancy,and 16 cases were due to other diseases.However,no definite diagnosis had been made in the remaining 135 cases( 34.8%).Conclusion The infectious diseases,especially tuberculosis,are still the most common causes of FUO,and CTD and malignancy are also major causes of FUO.
