Abstract
Objective To test the effect of bcl-2 gene transfection on the cell cycle of human gastric epithelial cell line GES-1. Methods Lipofectamine method was adopted to transfect PcDNA3/bcl-2 into human gastric epithelial cell line GES-1. The GES-1 transfected by empty vector pcDNA3 carrying NEOr were used as control. The geneticin 418 (G418) was adopted to select positive clones of bcl-2 gene transfected cells. The cell cycle of each group cells was tested by flow cytometry (FCM). Results The results of FCM analysis showed that the proportion of S-phase cells in bcl-2 gene transfected group increased obviously. Conclusion bcl-2 gene transfection can increase the proportion of S-phase cells and enhance the proliferation ability of bcl-2 gene transfected cells.
