An Analysis of the Relationship between the Coordinate Development of Regional Economy and Core City Sustainable Development in Jiangsu

The coordinate development of regional economy is in proportion to the core cities' sustainable development in Jiangsu, therefore, if a core city's sustainable development is strong, the level of coordinate development of their radiating regions is accordingly high. Yet great discrepancies exist between the coordinate economic development of regional economy and core cities' sustainable developments in different regions, especially between those in the south and those in the north. The cities in the southern Jiangsu province confront the resource bottleneck in sustainable development while those in the central and northern parts have certain potentials as newcomers. We must seek the new patterns of development that stress ecological benefit in the core cities' sustainable development and the coordinate development of Jiangsu regional economy.
