Abstract
The growth in PM industry in recent years can be explained by the improvements of shaping ability of PM parts to a great extent.This paper focused on the principles,characteristics and applications of warm compaction,dynamic magnetic compaction,explosive compaction,powder forging,rapid omnidirectional compaction,powder rolling and high velocity compaction.Among the mentioned forming technology,high velocity compaction can be considered as another breakthrough during the PM industry' s quest for cost-effective,high-density sintered components and it has a wide application prospect.
