Abstract
Objective:To compare the efficacy and side effects o f risperidone or olanzapine combined with lithium respectively in the treatment of mania episode in bipolar disorder. Method:66 manic patients were randomly assigned to be treated by risperidone or olanzapine combined with lithium respectively for 6 weeks. All the patients were evaluated by Bech-Rafae lsen mania rating scale (BRMS),GAS,CGI-SI,TESS and laboratory test. Re sults:In both groups,total score of BRMS was significantly reduced from baseline, and there were no significant differences between two groups.Few side effects were observed. Conclusion:Risperidone or olanzapine com bined with lithinm therapy is safe and efficacious in the treatment of mania.
