Abstract

Three representative sweet sorghums were used in this experiment. The germination tendency, germination percentage, germination index, vigor index and the length of root and bud were tested to determine the effects of cadmium stress at the concentration 0,2,4,8,16 and 32 mg/L.The results indicated that, under the cadmium stress, most of the data firstly rose and then dropped with the increasing of cadmium concentration. At 4 mg/L,the germination was accelerated. The cadmium tolerant of Shanghai sweet sorghum was the best among the three trialed varieties.
