INVESTIGATION ON THE BASIC HEALTH SERVICES CAPABILITY OF TOWNSHIP HEALTH CENTERS IN SOME POOR AREAS OF SICHUAN PROVINCE

[Objective] To understand the status of basic health services of the township health centers in some poor ar-eas of Sichuan Province after they've got supports from the health project,so as to summarize the experiences and shortages to provide scientific basis for improving basic health service capability of township health centers in poor districts and the quality of life of the residents.[Methods] 3 townships were selected with stratified sampling method in a poor county.We investigated the township health centers with self-designed questionnaires.87 villagers recruited by stratified sampling method were also in-vestigated.[Results] The basic facilities of 3 township health centers were completed.The basic health services could satisfied the demand of residents,but there still were some problems.[Conclusion] In order to improve the basic health situations of people in poor districts,It is suggestion that we should increase the input to the township health centers to ensure the construc-tion of basic facilities,strengthen the construction of the professional team of the township health centers to guarantee the quality of the health service,and pay attention to each field of the health service to improve the health service capability.
