Abstract
The synthesis of isoamyl chloroacetate using ferric sulfate as catalyst and n-hexane as watercarrying agent was studied. The results showed that the ratio of chloroacetic acid and isoamyl alcohol(0.1 mol) was 1:1.3(mole rate),the reaction time was 0.5 h,the quantity of catalyst was 0.5 g,the quantity of n- Hexane was 15 ml and the reaction temperature was about 100~110℃.The yield of the ester was 93.0%.The results established the oretical basis for ferric sulfate in the synthesis of isoamyl chloroacetate in industry.
