Abstract
[Objective]The synthesis of isoamyl chloroacetate using ferric chloride as catalyst was studied.[Method]The influencing factors of synthesis reaction were investigated and the optimal conditions were studied.[Result]The ferric chloride was an excellent catalyst for syn-thesizing isoamyl chloroacetate. The optimum conditions were as follows:molar ratio of isoamyl alcohol to chloroacetic acid was 1.2∶ 1.0,the quantity of catalyst was 1.5 g,the quantity of n-Hexane was 15 ml,the reaction temperature was 78-105 ℃,and the reaction time was 1.5 h.Under the optimum conditions, its yield could reach 93.7% .[Conclusion]The study could provide the scientific basis for ferric chloride better applying in the synthesis of isoamyl chloroacetate.
