Abstract

Objective To study the endoscopic and pathological features of gastric mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma(GMALTL) in order to improve its diagnosis. Methods A retrospective analysis was done in 38 patients with GMALTL in terms of clinical, endoscopic and pathological findings. Results The mean age of the patients was 55.8,and male female ratio was 1.71∶1.The symptoms included upper abdominal pain, hunger pain, abdominal distention, nausea, vomiting or melena,in which, upper abdominal pain was the most common one.The tumor usually located at the lower portion of gastric corpus and/or antrum(42.1%),antrum only(26.3%),corpus only(26.3%).The accuracy of endoscopic diagnosis was 65.8%.Immunohistochemical analysis confirmed that all the cases were B-cell lymphoma. Conclusion Deep biopsy combined with immunohistochemistry is helpful to the diagnosis of GMALTL.
