Ethnical Thought on the Ideological and Moral State of New Period College Students

The ideological and moral state of college students is generally good except for some problems that can not be neglected. The chief problems are: the pluralistic trend of values; the pluralistic trend in the criteria of right and wrong; immoral trend; indifference to public virtues and civil behaviors, The reasons for them are: the negative effects of market economy on the ideology and morality of college students; moral education is not paid due attention in practical work; domestic education that unilaterally pursues intellectual de-velopment of the children; the special social identity of college students. In the cultivation of college students' ideology and morality, the following must be emphasized: the thinking of college moral education work should be altered; suitable goals should be made so as to activate individual moral needs; morality should be taught and cultivated in daily life.
