Abstract
Five components with different polarities in the ethanol extracts of corn silk were obtained by using chloroform, ethyl acetate,n-butanol and methanol as extractant, respectively. The anti-oxidative activities of the five extractions were compared in two systems,DPPH system and Fe~(2+)inducing PUFA system.N-butanol extract had the strongest scavenging activity to DPPH free radicals, and the next was chloroform extraction. The anti-oxidative activity of chloroform extract in the Fe~(2+) inducing PUFA system was the strongest, followed by ethyl acetate extract. The same extract had different anti-oxidative activities in these two systems.
