Abstract
In this paper,corn silk flavonoids extracted by using different organic solvents were classified to four extracts of different polarities,including petroleum ether extract,ethyl acetate extract,n-butanol extract and water extract. The antioxidant activities of the four extracts of different polarities were compared by studying the reducing power and activities in scavenging free radicals DPPH·,·OH and O2-·of the crude extract and the four extracts. The results showed that all of the four extracts of different polarities had antioxidant activity;the antioxidant activity of each extract was in a significant dose-effect relationship with the flavonoid content;the n-butanol extract had the strongest reducing power and the highest activity in scavenging free radicals DPPH· and ·OH;and ethyl acetate extract had the highest activity in scavenging O2-·.
