Abstract
Objective T0 investigate the effect of pterygium on Vision and corneal astigmatism. Methods 72 eyes (50 patients) with primary pterygium were evaluated through vision, diopter, corneal curvature and pterygium size. And 62 eyes of them was compared pre and post- surgery. Results Various degrees of astigmatism were determined in 72 eyes. The astigmatism was associated with the length of pterygium into the cornea, with regular hyperopic astigmatism as the main type.Degree of astigmatism was reduced after one months, and vision was improved. Condusion Pterygium cause regular hyperopic astigmatism, and the Degree of astigmatism Significantly associated with the pterygium size. The operation of pterygium could obviously improve corneal astigmatism and visual acuity.
