Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of hWAPL mRNA and its significance in cervical lesions including cervicitis,CIN(cervical intraepithelial neoplasia) and cervical carcinoma.Methods Levels of hWAPL mRNA in 100 samples,including chronic cervicitis,CINⅠ,CINⅡ,CINⅢ and cervical carcinoma(20 cases of each group)were detected using quantitative real-time PCR.Expression levels of β-actin were used as control to obtain the relative expression level of the target mRNA.Results The expression of hWAPL mRNA gradually increased in the order of chronic cervicitis,CINⅠ,CINⅡ,CINⅢ and cervical carcinoma((1.05±0.68),(3.05±1.57),(4.48±2.25),(8.71±7.70)and(10.49±9.82)).The expression of hWAPL mRNA in cervical carcinoma was significantly different from those in benign epithelia(P0.05 for chronic cervicitis,CINⅠand CINⅡ).No significant difference in hWAPL mRNA expression was noted between cervical carcinoma and CINⅢ(P0.05).Conclusion hWAPL is expressed in tissues of chronic cervicitis,CINⅠ,CINⅡ,CINⅢ and cervical carcinoma.The expression of hWAPL mRNA gradually increases in the order of chronic cervicitis,CINⅠ,CINⅡ,CINⅢ and cervical carcinoma.The expression of hWAPL mRNA in cervical carcinoma is significantly higher than in chronic cervicitis,CINⅠand CINⅡ.hWAPL may play a significant role in cervical carcinogenesis.
