Abstract
The process of removing iron from aluminum sulfate solution using KMnO_(4 ) as oxidant was studied. The influence of pH value, dosage of oxidant, concentration of aluminum sulfate solution on removing iron were studied. The obtained optimum conditions were that the pH value is controlled at 3, mass fraction of aluminum sulfate in solution is 30%, reaction time is 15 minute, reaction (temperature) is (100±5) ℃.The mass fraction of iron in aluminum sulfate product can be decreased to (0.27)%. Structure of the product was characterized by X-ray diffraction.
